MEET YOUR LOCAL RETAILERS: LITTLE PIGGY CAFE
In June 2020, the Little Piggy team expanded their business from a single café in Jindalee to a second at Ripley Town Centre – Little Piggy Café – bringing joy and delicious food to the local community.
Since then, Little Piggy Café has become a well-known and beloved establishment within the Ripley community, and a go-to location for milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries and graduations.
We caught up with team member James to find out more about Little Piggy Café and the team’s personal connection with the Ripley community.
What attracted you to Ripley Town Centre?
When we first enquired at the Centre, the management team were so helpful and nice that we were sold almost immediately. The Ripley area was also showing signs of strong growth and we knew our café would be a great addition to what was already on offer at the Centre.
What do you love about being at Ripley Town Centre?
The community at Ripley is so welcoming and over the past two years we have come to know our customers on a personal level – it feels like one big family.
How has Little Piggy Café grown since 2020?
Since we started, we have seen fantastic growth with more and more customers becoming regulars and visiting at least once a day.
What do you love about running a café?
I love being able to interact with different types of people and really getting to know the community here at Ripley on a more personal level. Our café has been a part of birthday celebrations, anniversaries and graduations which makes it very special.
Working in the hospitality industry can be challenging at times, but it’s incredibly rewarding watching our staff grow not only professionally but personally through working in a customer-facing role.
We’ve had staff start their journey with us in high school and leave after graduating from university, but I know they will take the skills they have learnt here with them.
How would you define the culinary offering at Little Piggy Café?
We have a delicious menu that offers all-day breakfast and lunch. Our food is mostly Australian cuisine, but we do have some Asian fusion dishes which customers love.
What are some fan favourites on the menu?
Our top three dishes would have to be the Hungry Piggy, which is a fantastic big breakfast, the Mushroom Fry-up which is a dish perfect for vegetarians or vegans, and the Popcorn Chicken Waffles which is one of my personal favourites!
What does expansion and growth look like for Little Piggy Café over the next 12 months?
As we continue to grow, I would love to open up another café in the Ripley area and continue to build our valued and trusted relationships with the local community.
If you’re after a delicious breakfast or lunch spot, make sure you pop in to Little Piggy Café at 20 Main Street and say ‘hi’ to James and the friendly team. For events and updates on Little Piggy Café and Ripley Town Centre, keep an eye on the Ripley Town Centre website and Facebook page.
