Developer Sekisui House is gearing up for the official opening of the highly anticipated first stage of the $1.5 billion Ripley Town Centre on Saturday, May 26.
Ripley Town Centre’s doors will officially open to the public from 11am, where the town centre will play host to ‘Main Street Festival’ to celebrate the town centre coming alive.
Ripley Town Centre development manager Taku Hashimoto said Main Street Festival will be a fun and exciting day showcasing the scale, lifestyle and vision of the centre to the Ripley and greater Ipswich region.
“The opening of Ripley Town Centre will be a game-changer for the western growth corridor, and will benefit the community now and for generations to come,” Mr Hashimoto said.
“Main Street Festival will mark the beginning of what we believe will be a vital commercial and community hub for the Ripley region and South East Queensland.
The festival will showcase Ripley Town Centre as a destination where people can live, work and play.
Mr Hashimoto said Ripley Town Centre and its Main Street is set to become the new heart of the community, and what better way to celebrate its opening than to stage an event that will bring the local and surrounding community together for a day full of celebration.
Main Street will be transformed for people to enjoy sidewalk dining and shopping, live music and entertainment overlooking the planned future parklands, as well as kite flying, rock climbing, kids cooking, a silent disco, interactive community displays, roving performers, a cartoonist, green cabs and so much more.
It will also give the region a chance to meet the businesses located within Ripley Town Centre and experience Satoyama Way, which has been designed to be an all-weather community gathering space.
Satoyama Way is lushly landscaped with trees, green walls, water features and a range of seating areas. The design of this space is based on the Japanese concept of ‘Satoyama’, which is the harmonious interaction of natural and man-made environments. Satoyama Way will be extended as the town centre grows.
Main Street Festival will conclude at 4pm. Visit ripleytowncentre.com.au for your chance to Win one of three eftpos cards valued at up to $1,000 to spend at Ripley Town Centre.
